Paperlift for iPhone scans paper and lifts it into parts you can use: tables as spreadsheets, text you can export or listen to, true-size ID copies and searchable PDFs.

No. Scanning, straightening pages, reading tables and text, search, Listen and every PDF tool run on the device. What leaves the phone is anonymous usage and crash statistics (AppMetrica) and, with a subscription, its status (Adapty). Documents, their text and their names are never sent. Details are in the privacy policy.
Open the Table part of the document and tap any cell to fix it before you export. Your edits are saved with the document. For the best result, scan the page flat, in even light, with the whole table in the frame. A photo taken at an angle is fine: From Photos finds the sheet and straightens it first.
Search looks through the text recognized in each scan. Handwriting, very small print, glare or a blurry photo can keep a word from being recognized. Scanning the page again in better light usually helps.
Listen uses the voices installed on your iPhone. Better quality voices can be downloaded in the iPhone's Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices.
The copy sheet is laid out at true size (85.6 × 54 mm for a card, 125 × 88 mm for a passport page). Print it at 100% or "Actual size", with any "fit to page" scaling turned off, on the paper size you chose (A4 or Letter).
Open it again. Pages are saved as soon as the camera closes, and the scan finishes processing on the next launch with all of its pages.
That means the document cannot go under the target size and still be readable. The message shows the smallest readable size instead. Paperlift does not give you a file larger than the original, and the text layer stays searchable after resizing.
It cannot be recovered. The password is applied to the PDF's own encryption and is not stored by the app or sent anywhere.
You can add text, highlights, drawings and a signature on top of a page, but text that is already part of a PDF cannot be rewritten.
