Shannon Sharpe heavily criticized Shaq on his Nightcap podcast earlier this week after the former Laker critiqued Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic winning a third NBA MVP in four years. Shaq said that Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander “deserved” to win the title, and he candidly told that to Jokic’s face in an interview. Sharpe took issue with O’Neal’s remarks. “Shaq should have five MVP’s,” he said. “He sees a guy like Nikola Jokic that’s not as dominant as him and gets three in four years. When you historically great, they talk about you as a great basketball player, the GOAT, and Shaq is never brought up.
