Have you lost someone you love to the QAnon rabbit hole? In 2016, QAnon was a fringe movement with almost no traction outside of a hyper niche online political community. Fast forward to 2023 and QAnon is a major part (if not a majority, maybe a plurality?) of Trump’s solid base of support. Despite none of the Q drops actually happening in any way described by Q’s cryptic posts, QAnon has only grown its influence.
Where does this movement go from here? What happens if Trump loses again? Has QAnon transformed past its initial Trump fandom and into a robust political movement? Will it fizzle out? For answers to all this and more we were joined this week by Will Sommer, politics reporter for the Daily Beast who has been watching the QAnon movement rise from its bombastic beginnings to its current level of high influence.
